The Dunearn Malay Dance Group, Puspa Sari had been in existence since the inception of Dunearn Secondary School in 1962. From a humble beginning of 16 members, its membership has increase steadily over the years. Currently, our dancers stands at 30 members from Secondary One to Five. Regular practices were held twice a week on Tuesday and Friday afternoon. Members were given training in dancing which include the zapin, joget, ronggeng, masri and inang. Ever since its inception, its members had participated in numerous school concerts, public performances and national competitions. This year, our dancers took part in the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging for Malay Dance and clinched a Silver Award. Recently, our members participated in the Inter-School Artistic Poetry Competition and won second placing including the ‘Most Creative team Award’.
